This is always a favorite subject of discussion for outdoorsmen and photographers alike: what gear do you need. While the answer is not always the same, there are some basic principles to keep in mind no matter where you go. In this section we will review both photography and outdoor gear, as the two are basically inseparable for the outdoor photographer. While some of the reviews will be on site video podcast form, most of the reviews will be plain old text.
As the boy scouts go, so go the outdoorsmen: prepared. While not all outdoor photography is done with a backpack, it may still be necessary to have a good rain jacket and a good pair of boots.
Every photographer has a different bag of tricks and equipment, and we don't forsee that changing. We do, however, see a need for a comprehensive list of equipment so photographers can better understand what tools would best serve their needs. Whether you are looking for the sharpest lens at 17mm or how to build a tripod out of a bag of beans, we think everyone will find something useful here.
